MOSAIC TRIANGLES BLANKET
Although this pattern was a natural off-shoot of my Mosaic Vest pattern, for me it also very much stands on its own as one of the easiest, most enjoyable-to-make, vibrant blankets I’ve ever designed.
Experimenting with triangles (exploring quilting motifs and configurations in particular) and embracing the ease of mosaic knitting (a simple and straightforward knit and slip stitch technique developed by knitting legend Barbara Walker), this pattern quickly comes together in a way that I hope you’ll also find deeply satisfying and fun.
The shade of blue yarn I used from Kelson Goods, called Pool, is electric (the images simply don’t do its intense beauty justice). It reminds me of the Greek mati, casting a glow of good energy and good vibes over the entire making process. Keith Foster (of Kelson Goods), along with being a very talented knitter also sews and makes exquisite quilts, and so our connections on this project hit on many appreciated levels.
A useful note on the presentation of the pattern itself — unlike the vest pattern (which was too long to present any way other than chart-only) the Mosaic Triangles Blanket pattern includes a chart as well as line-by-line written instructions (for those who prefer to work that way). If you have any questions at all, always feel free to submit them in the Contact tab above!
